Put an Enchanté on it: The art of love and laughter
Oh HIIIII!!
What day is it? THURMONDAY? Cool cool. Hope you are all staying healthy and happy and sane! We are doing our best to keep our spirits up and our bodies healthy. But man, every day still starts with me changing out of pajamas and into a sweatsuit of some kind. Like, whoa. It feels oddly normal at this point and also makes me wonder how I’m gonna go back to wearing real clothes..... jury is out.
If you know me personally - or maybe even from Instagram cause a lot of my life is online- you know that I am especially big on two things: I love to love, and I love to laugh. Both of these feelings slash activities, if you will, earn a big ass Enchanté in my book. I mean what feels more lucrative than love and laughter?
If you feel you are lacking in either department, know that you can turn it all around anytime you choose, and if you don’t want to that’s fine too!! You do you boo!
As a NOT professional professional, I have learned that love all starts with YOU. Shocker! I touched on this in my first post ( feel free to review and if you are just joining, hiiiiieeeeei!!! Here are the CliffsNotes: in my first post I talked about when I fell in love with myself and how it changed my life). It truly is wonderful and I highly recommend embarking on the journey of self love if you haven’t yet. I am still on it- pretty sure it will be a lifelong process- and I am grateful for that- I get so much better with age! I committed myself a long time ago to choosing love at every opportunity ( both with myself and others). I mess up sometimes, cause I AM HUMAN, but then I take that opportunity to learn a lesson and MOVE ON. You have a choice how you live my friend, so just put a big ass enchanté on everything and fu&k the rest ( sorry for the language!! #newyorker). Forgive negative thoughts if you are having them- love means you can also let stuff go- and try and focus on gratitude. I bet there is so much goodness in your life that even if missed upon first glance is lurking in a cute corner waiting for you to put a little bow (or enchanté) on it. If the debbie downer-ness is a real stage 5 creeper, get some tools to kick it to the curb. I have a physical gesture I do to rid myself of bad stressful saboteur thoughts ( they attack me like the big jerk they are). I take my hand and pretend to grab a handful of stress/yuck off my heart area and throw it on the ground! Then I repeat it until I feel like I really took it off my chest ( I like to add some dramatic sounds too, but I am a voice over actress, so feel free to ignore that step). It may sound ridiculous, but, like, have a little fun with it or try something else! Just clear all that gooooo out, byeeeeee felicia! Guess what, for the rest of your life you gonna be with you, so, wouldn’t it feel great to have a respectful and loving relationship with yourself and the world?! Wouldn’t it feel fabulous to be in awe of the gorgeous being you are?! There is NOBODY like you!! That’s so insanely awesome and amazing. You get to be the most badass version of you!! ENCHANTÉ my friend!
As far as laughter goes, I could sit here and attempt to write you a liiiiight one woman show to try and squeeze a small cackle out of you- but I will spare you the time. Please though, DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF LAUGHTER. It is infectious, delicious and, I’ll admit, I AM FULLY ADDICTED. I mean, is a pretty solid remedy for almost anything. If you aren’t getting your daily dose, I highly encourage you to find a way to add it to your life routine. Find something funny on netflix or social media, chuckle at a memory, or better yet create that laughter LIVE via human connection. I feel very blessed in the girlfriend department and I have some of the most LIT AF text chains that have me nearly peeing in my pants regularly (I mean, I am pregnant, so the control isn’t that great anyway..). Jamie hears me in full hysterics daily at our texting. The joy I get from making jokes with them is medicine for my soul. Jamie and I laugh with each other every day too- and it’s one of the things that made me fall in love with him so deeply. We have the same sense of humor, and man is that sexy. I can’t write your laugh story, but I encourage you to find it.
Okay friend, I am going to go back to Marie Kondo-ing my garage- an activity that both satisfies me and makes me nuts CAUSE IT NEVER ENDS. I hope you find an extra dose of love and a HUGE ass dose of laughter/joy/silliness/cackle-ation cause man does it feel good. Speaking of asses, I am giving you a good kick in the rump this week with your workout video, so go get em tiger!! Sending you so much goodness. I hope that you, in your home, in whatever comfy clothes envelop your gorgeous body can #beyourbest self.
