A view into the beautiful world of Troian Bellisario

I am back! I took a week off to regroup and holy moly was it helpful. I feel a new sense of inspiration for this journal and am so excited about what’s to come. As I ease into my third trimester (wow is this quarantine pregnancy flying by!), chase a toddler, juggle work and home life, and try and practice self care, I decided to take my blog posts down to every other week. That just means the content is gonna be even more lit AF! From skincare, to gift guides, to baby and mama picks, to more workouts, more recipes, wellness hacks and now CLIENT and BRAND INTERVIEWS, this summer is gonna be a whole lotta goodness.
I am so stoked to kick off my interview series with my amazing friend and client Troian Bellisario. Troian and I have known each other for years, but our friendship really deepened once I became her trainer. I love working out with her, but I really love talking about life, work, and motherhood with her. She is a bright light of love, and goodness. She is so down to earth. So cool. So selfless and, wow does she live a beautiful brand. With incredible style and taste- her house is a true haven- she is kinda the whole package aka life goals. She works so hard and is always down for whatever I throw at her. Rockstar. Oh and did I mention she is also a crazy talented actress? I am sure you already know that though..
After she kindly answered these questions we sat down on Zoom, chatted and worked out. Being the angel she is, she even walked me through the zoom recording settings to make sure it was taped in gallery view so you could see us both on the screen. As we know I am … ahem… technologically challenged. Low and behold, despite my efforts it still recorded in speaker view- which means it got LOTS of footage of me barking orders at her, and not so lots of footage of her kick ass workout - with that perfect Troian form to go along with it. I was frustrated and confused. Following the catastrophic zoom-cording, I had a session with another one of my clients, who kindly let me vent. And guess what? She spun the whole thing around and glass half full’d me!! By the way, I preach this kind of positive thinking to this client every week and now she is my guru.. YOU do the math. “Now people get to have YOU train them, isn’t that good?” my client asked me. Hmmm, now that you say that, yeah, that is actually pretty great! So.. you guys get to watch Troian work out AND you get her trainer to train you in this week’s video! “Party on Wayne” ( I hope people still get this movie reference, if not, bless your young hearts.. It’s from “Wayne’s World” and please go watch it- I hope you laugh your tush off). Taking a page from my post two weeks ago, this video is perfectly imperfect and I hope it serves you well- and makes you sweat as it did to us. What’s your favorite type of workout?:
Dance Class or Aerial Silks
What’s your favorite song or type of music to workout to?:
LCD Soundsystem or Kendrick Lamar. Something with an undeniable beat.
How do you motivate yourself when you aren’t in the mood to workout?:
I always take a deep breath and focus on how good I will feel afterwards. I am always surprised at how shallow my normal breath is if I just wake up and jump into my day. After I sit for a meditation or finish a work out my breathing is much deeper, which triggers my whole nervous system to calm down and approach my day in a much calmer more centered way.
What is your favorite recipe? :
Roasted Salmon or Branzino and roasted vegetables (my favorite is sweet potato)
Would you mind sharing it with us?:
I just use really good olive oil, big flaky salt and good pepper. Then I put everything in the oven and roasted it. So easy. So good.
Fave form of self care?:
Meditation and swimming in the ocean.
Fave product ( can be brand or product)?:
Right now I am using Nousha’s face Oil and Humble’s Deodorant like a freak.

What wellness hack is a part of your daily or weekly routine?:
Definitely putting lemon in my water. Facial Rolling. I have been using the Defa roller straight out of the refrigerator before I go to sleep and It calms me down and gets me ready for bed.
